About Us

Better Baking by Beth had its roots from the days when she purchased the Bake Shop in 1994, a Torrington landmark for over 70 years.  As the mom & pop shops became a thing of the past and supermarkets sprouted bakeries, business began to change. 

Eleven years ago “Better Baking” was officially born!  Our intent was to sell at local farmer’s markets as a complement to fresh produce.  Now we are expanding to sell online. We have a state certified commercial kitchen in our home where all the magic happens.  Our team of professionals creates top quality, imaginative and delicious baked treats.  

We provide sweets, breads, rolls, meals to go, cakes, and more as well as gluten free and vegan products to meet the needs of the community. Specialty holiday items for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter are also available.  Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or something to bring home and share, we’ve got just the thing for you.
